Peninsula Community Chapel is a contemporary, casual, evangelical church. We are very interested in sharing God's Word in the local community, in the inner city, and around the world. We are committed to a home group ministry where people can fellowship and share significantly in each others' lives.
We believe that the good news about Jesus Christ ought to be truly understood, not simply admired at arm's length. To that end our pastor preaches and teaches with the goal of clarity and life application of Biblical truths, and our children's programs are planned so that lessons are conducted with age-appropriate concepts and language.
Peninsula Community Chapel was founded in 1983 as a church plant ministry of Tabernacle Church of Norfolk, which has planted several churches in the Tidewater area. As a broadly evangelical church, PCC seeks to focus on those aspects of the Christian life most evangelicals hold in common: a high view of scripture, the Lordship of Christ over all areas of life, local and personal evangelism, and world missions. These are standards also held by para-church organizations in which many in the Chapel have participated (e.g. Campus Crusade, Navigators, and Inter-Varsity).
