Let’s talk about movies.  No agenda.  Just good ole “thumbs up” or “down”—then take the conversation from there, pretty much anywhere you want to go.

Let’s watch a range of movies, from comedy to drama to action.  Throw in food…games…even a few surprises.  Meet up with—perhaps even make—a few friends.

Not a bad way to spend an evening, eh?

We meet weekly to discuss a selected movie, which you watch on your own beforehand.  Come even if you didn’t see the movie.  You’d be surprised at the fun you could have even without knowing what was so funny about that scene with Adam Sandler and a Beach Boys CD in 50 First Dates.

Flick we discussedV for Vendetta
Reaction overall: Lots of "Liked it" and "Loved it!"
One reason why: Rare is the action movie that throws this much provocative material--this many ideas--at you.  Disagreeable ideas, perhaps, but an irresistable movie.
A bit of dissension: The ideologies being thrown out were too much to swallow.

Best finger food brought: Cookies...lots of them, and different kinds
Game we played and who wonTeam 2, aka the "Flick Chicks", (Rennie Marvel, Amy Watterman, Nancy Hillman, Josie Burke, Melissa Bounds, Christina Bounds, Felicia Maddalon, Steph Lewis, Elizabeth Ware, Corrine Check, Ann Farrar, Elizabeth Ware and Pam Perkins) smoked Team 1, aka "The Others" (the men), in a "hit parade" of Flick Club-version games we played this summer (Outburst, Pictionary, Taboo).
